Description
Macrossan Bridge Provisional School school opened 8 December 1884 with the transference of its first Head Teacher, William Augustus Tearle. In May 1903 the name of the school was changed to Burdekin Provisional School. By 1907 the school was classified a State School, and in November 1917 it underwent another name change to Macrossan State School. Macrossan State School closed 27 July 1948 due to low attendance.
