Samsonvale Provisional School was officially opened on 1 Jun 1875. During the next 50 years, the school moved site three times. On 9 Aug 1880 it opened as Samson Creek Provisional School. On 25 Jan 1909 it became Samson Creek State School. On 15 April 1925 it was moved to its present location, changing its name to Mount Samson State School (No.377).
