Owing to the increased number of children in the Teviot area, the Teviotville Railway Station Provisional School No.885 opened in 1899. In 1903 the school had a change of name to the Teviotville Provisional School No.885 and in 1912 became Teviotville State School No.885. The school closed due to low enrolments in 1981.

NOTE: In 1903 the school adopted the Teviotville name after the former school of the same name became known as Coulson State School No.253.
