This series provides a record of medical attention provided to Westbrook inmates during the periodic visits made by the Visiting Medical Officer.

Information recorded includes: date (of medical examination), name of boy, nature of the illness, treatment administered, and the initials of the Visiting Medical Officer. Formulas or 'recipes' for some of the medicines are recorded at the rear of the journals.
