This series consists of general correspondence in connection with the work of the Survey Office in the discharge of its principal function of surveys. The main subjects dealt with in the correspondence are: surveys of the State's borders, the trigonometrical survey of Queensland, working conditions and equipment for surveyors, maps prepared for schools and other government departments, aerial surveys, co-ordination of levels, astronomical inquires, standard time, production of military maps, photographic work and charges, survey of soldier settlements, Hamilton Lands Industrial Development, government inquiries, correspondence with Shire Councils, survey and mapping standards, organisation of the Topographic Branch, introduction of computers, Third Order and National Levels, development of Brigalow lands, proposed hydro-electric projects.
