Description

This series consists of miscellaneous material relating to public health, public hospitals, medical care and local government. Documents attached to services such as fire brigade and destruction of prickly-pear are also included. The series covers the transition from the Home Secretary's Office to the Health and Home Affairs Department in December, 1935. Control of the sub-department of Local Government was transferred from the Secretary for Health and Home Affairs to the Secretary for Public Works on 10th December, 1941, and from that date onwards operated as an agency in its own right.
