Description

This series comprises copies of letters written by the Pine Divisional Board/Shire Council to various individuals, residents and agencies, with whom the local authority had dealings. Subject matter includes payment of overdue rates, correspondence with Government departments regarding works and services, advice regarding Local Council by-laws and regulations, advise regarding building requirements and the settlement of disputes etc. Copies of all outgoing correspondence were produced in such letterbooks which copied the ink impressions of the original. Many of the early letters are illegible due to the effects of ink bleeding.
