Description

Matrimonial petitions or matrimonial 'causes' files usually contain the following documents: petitions, citations for respondent and co-respondent, appearance, summons, petition for alimony, bond, respondent's answer, consent as to mode of trial, praecipe for subpoena, minutes of order nisi, pleas, joinder of issue, certificate of marriage, affidavits, certificate of Registrar, notice of trial, decree nisi and decree absolute, etc.

NOTE: From 1895 to 1960 matrimonial petitions were included in the series "Writs" (5687).

Some of the files have been water damaged.
