This series comprises submissions made by the Department to the Cabinet Budget Review Committee (CBRC).

This series also includes CBRC Budget Submissions which do not follow the normal lodgement process or receive a decision number.

The CBRC is a core Standing Committee that has a primary role of considering matters with financial or budgetary implications for the government. Initiatives that cannot be funded from existing budgets must be directed to CBRC in the first instance for consideration. At the direction of the Premier or Cabinet, CBRC may also consider other issues that might best be considered in the Committee environment.

Generally stakeholder Minister(s) are invited to meetings to provide input into deliberations on submissions. CBRC may decide that it should be referred to Cabinet for consideration by the full Ministry.

Matters that would be considered by CBRC include:

•matters that would have a significant budgetary impact
•whole of government budget deliberative processes involving operational budget and mid-year budget reviews
•negotiating positions and outcomes on significant industrial relations issues
•proposals that would require funding beyond the normal approved budget allocation
•approval of all major advertising campaigns for Queensland Government agencies
•key intergovernmental agreements with financial implications for Queensland
•proposals for Public Private Partnerships with an expected capital value in excess of $30 million/whole of life of $50 million.
