Description

This series contains records created and used by the Queensland Branch of the Australia Day Council which was run by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. The council was created to organise and promote Australia Day events and activities for the State of Queensland. The series consists of minutes of the meeting which has details on who attended the meetings, events organised, trophy details, receipts and financial information, some of the minutes are hand written and others typed. The Attendance registers also records attendees of the meetings.
There are also copies of annual reports from 1984-1991 as well as By-Laws and rules of the Council as a branch of the national scheme. Also included is some photographic material and audio-visual material to record and promote Australia Day Celebrations including radio and television commercials and segments.
