After 12 months of study, school-leavers who trained in child health graduated as Child Welfare Assistants and received Certificates of Competency and badges, enabling them to work in child minding centres and private homes.

This series comprises a badge book which lists a badge number, the name of the child welfare/health assistant and the home (i.e. St Paul's Terrace, Clayfield, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Rockhampton] where they were trained.
