Description

This series consists of a card index which records names of clients whose wills were administered by the Public Curator and subsequent Public Trustee, Brisbane. This index records names of persons whose files were not converted and imported into a computer system in 1985, mainly because the persons were deceased and their names appear in the Brisbane Master Card Index (series 19115).

However, some of the names on these cards do not appear in the Brisbane Master Card Index due to a number of factors including: the will being revoked and therefore not administered by the Public Trustee; the Public Trustee not being the executor; or, the estate being so small that it did not warrant administration.

Each card records the will number, and the name, address and occupation of the client, the name of the executor or trustee and how disposed of. Addresses on cards are not only for Brisbane but also for other places in Queensland. Cards may be included for persons whose wills were superseded by later wills which were not administered by the Office.
