These registers list results of successful candidates for vacancies in the Public Service. Early registers (up to 1920s) contain full name of candidate, examination number and marks achieved by subject examined. Later registers list candidates in order of merit, giving full name of candidate, date of birth, address and school attended. Composite year registers (eg. 1938 - 1941) and 1960s registers, list candidates alphabetically by name. During the 1960s and 1970s, registers were also separated according to gender of candidate. Results are for entry into both the professional and ordinary/clerical divisions of the Public Service.
