Information Sources

Description

This series consists of files of correspondence and other papers mainly boarding lists regarding the arrival in Brisbane of immigrant ships and their passengers. There is file for each ship which usually contains correspondence between the Immigration Officer and the Chief Secretary's Office regarding each arrival as well as memorandums from the Commonwealth Office, London regarding passengers. Some ships landed at Sydney and the passengers then travelled by train to Brisbane.
