Description

This is an uncompleted contract between the Agent-General of the colony of Queensland and the owners or charterers of ships used for immigration. It includes specifications for the fitting-out of such ships, the means of estimating the number of passengers to be carried, requirements for their comfort and conditions of payment of passage money by the Government to the charterers or owners. Schedules attached set out in detail the amount of stores and medical supplies needed while regulations include detailed instruction to the master, medical officers, matron, cooks and schoolmaster for maintaining the health and welfare of the passengers.
