Description

This series consists of some of the 16mm and 35mm films held by the Open Access Unit, Film and Video Library, at the Education Department Queensland. The films are either produced by the Film Unit or other government departments. A large majority of the films were produced by the Public Instruction Department which would later become the Education Department. This series includes many different elements of the film with some being but not limited to: release prints, off cuts, picture only, sound only, rushes and final cuts.

The films in most cases were produced and used for educational purposes in the classroom and in some cases are films about education. This series includes a wide variety of topics including to but not limited to: railways, beaches, marine life, Queensland industry, fruit and vegetables, safety films, celebrations, Queensland landscapes and Aboriginal culture.
