This series of state-wide maps were produced by the Surveyor General's Office, and later the Survey Office, of the Lands Department. Originally the series was compiled by T. S. Bailey and R. H. Lawson, and lithographed by H. W. Fox, under the direction of the Surveyor General of Queensland, W. Alcock Tully.
Details featured on these maps include pastoral holdings, type of land tenure (freeholds, leaseholds, perpetual leases, grazing selections, grazing homesteads and agricultural selections) townships, main roads, telegraph lines and stations, and rivers and creeks. Some of the maps are annotated.
Maps are drawn on a scale of 16 miles to an inch.
