Description
Rockhampton Central Vested School opened in November 1862. The school was subsequently divided into three sections - boys, girls, and infants - while still retaining the same school number, 89. By 1876, a separate number for the girls' school (number 251) and the infants' school (number 252) had been allocated, and the Rockhampton Central Boys School operated as number 89 until it closed in December 1963.
