Description
Maroochy River State School opened 27 June 1911 with the transference of the school's first Head Teacher, Rosa Blanch Dixson, and the first registration of pupils taking place on that date. The school closed 31 December 1972 due to low attendance. In 1974 the school building was sold to the Nambour Girl Guides, and the school residence sold to Nambour and District Boy Scouts Association. The school playground equipment was moved to Cilento Park.
