Description
Bukali State School was originally known as Monal Creek Provisional School which opened on 15 September 1925. It was situated in the Central Region, 5 miles north east of Monto.
The administrative records indicate that in 1928, the school was classified as a Class 6 state school. On 10/7/1928 the school moved into a new building.
On 17/6/1936, the change of name from Monal Creek to Bukali State School was approved. It was felt that it was 100 yards from the railway siding named Bukali and was known by that name in the district. The school closed in December 1963 and pupils were transferred to the Monto State School.
