Description
Mount Brisbane Provisional School opened on 17 April 1876. It became a State School in 1879. The name of the school was changed to Deep Creek State School in 1893 and to Bryden State School in 1920. The school closed on 30 June 1929 but reopened as a half-time school on 19 August 1929. The part-time school was closed as of 31 January 1932; however the Department gave permission for the school building to be used by children doing correspondence lessons under the supervision of a teacher employed privately by the parents. This arrangement continued until 1936.

The school reopened as Provisional School no. 1769 on 14 April 1947 and closed on 13 May 1963.
