Warwick West Vested School No.258 opened on the 26 July 1875. By circa 1900 the School had become known as Warwick West Girls and Infants School No.258, having separated from the Boys Department School No.116 earlier. In 1912 Warwick Central State School opened as the Warwick West Boys School No.116 and Warwick West School, Girls and Infants No. 258. The departments continued as separate schools until the 1940s, when the school became known as Warwick Central School No.116 and the boys and girls school merged.
