Major's Creek State School was approved to be established on 9 November 1933 and the school opened in 1934. The school was situated via Woodstock on the Northern Railway line, 50 km from Thuringowa, and had a prospective attendance of 19 pupils. There was no residence available for the Head Teacher. In 1999 the school had 11 enrolments. About 31 December 2008 the school was "mothballed" then closed in 2009.
