Description
Thompson Estate Provisional School No.514 opened at Annerley on 30 April 1888 with 1 Head Teacher, 2 Assistant Teachers and 2 Pupil Teachers and an average attendance of 166 pupils. It became a State School on 31 January 1891. The Head Teacher at that time was James Joseph Dempsey who had 9 Assistant Teachers and 2 Pupil Teachers in his charge with an average attendance of 461 pupils. After 1892 the School changed name to become Junction Park State School No.514. By 1893 there were 737 pupils at the school.
