Description
ESTABLISHMENT:
Under the "Hospitals Act 1936", the Emerald Hospitals Board was constituted on 1 Dec 1944 and replaced the Committee of Management of the Emerald Hospital.

PORTFOLIO CONTROLLING:
Secretary for Health and Home Affairs, 1 Dec 1944 - 12 Aug 1957
Minister for Health and Home Affairs, 12 Aug 1957 - 26 Sep 1963
Minister for Health, 26 Sep 1963 - 1 Jul 1991

ABOLITION:
Under the "Health Services Act 1991" Hospital Boards were abolished and replaced by the regional authorities. Emerald Hospital administration became the responsibility of the Central Regional Health Authority.
