Description
FUNCTIONS:
Following the departmental restructuring that took effect from 1 May 1991, the Environmental Sanitation Section continued for some period in its advisory role to Local Authorities regarding sanitation matters, particularly mosquito control.


ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE:
Restructuring of the Central Office of Queensland Health took effect from 1 May 1991 with four functional divisions replacing the previous 18. On 1 July 1991, under the Health Services Act 1991, Regional Health Authorities were created with responsibility for health services in the 13 regions.

NOTE: No references to the exact date of the abolition of the Environmental Sanitation Section were located in any primary source.
