Description
A Lunatic Asylum, Brisbane was established as wards within the Brisbane Gaol with the appointment, by the Sheriff, of a Superintendent (who was also the Gaoler), Medical Officer, Matron, and a Principal and two other wardens, on 1 November 1860. On 10 January 1865 patients were transferred to the new Lunatic Asylum, Woogaroo.
