ESTABLISHMENT:
From 22 Feb 2001, the Department of Employment, Training and Industrial Relations was renamed the Department of Employment and Training, and a new Department of Industrial Relations was established.

ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE:
Functions were carried out by the Divisions of Industrial Relations, Workplace Health and Safety, Public Sector Industrial and Employee Relations, and the Safety and Health Division (formerly part of the Department of Mines and Energy) to 1 Jul 2004.

ABOLITION:
Under Administrative Arrangements Order (No. 8) 2006, the Department of Industrial Relations was renamed the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations to take effect retrospectively from 13 Sep 2006.
