Dates
• You may enter the date range you wish to search. You may also enter only a
From Date
or a
To Date
. The date format to use is
dd/mm/yyyy.
For example, to search for Agencies operating in the period 1920-1940:

31/12/1940
• A date range search will retrieve all records falling within the specified range. For example, the above search would retrieve Agencies with the following operating dates:
1880-1950
1894-1932
1926-1952
1924-1936
• Selecting a
From Date
of 1/1/1920 without a
To Date
would retrieve any Agency that was operating on or after 1/1/1920 but
would not
retrieve an Agency that ceased operation prior to 1920.
• Selecting a
To Date
of 31/12/1940 without a
From Date
would retrieve any Agency that was operating at or before 31/12/1940 but
would not
retrieve an Agency that commenced operation after 1940
Agency Type
You may specify the particular type of Agency you are interested in, for example Commission of Inquiry. The default search is ‘all’. Please note that Agency Types will be assigned over time as the catalogue is updated. If your search does not retrieve the expected results try again with the Agency Type set to ‘all’.
